Fines and bans for top Pakistan Players
Just around the corner of Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean Pakistan cricket team has been hit by another blast as PCB’s inquiry committee has recommended some hard and harsh punishment to the top Pakistan senior players, including fines and bans.
Committee has called for Shahid Afridi , Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal to be fined due to various misbehavior and indiscipline, Shoaib Malik and Rana Naveed could be banned for international cricket but they can play domestic cricket in mean time. These recommendations still have to be approved by PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt.
Pakistan tour of Austarlia was ended up as a ban of 2 T20 matches for Shahid Afridi due to ball-tempering, for this Shahid Afridi has been called for almost 2-3 million to be fined, with this his captaincy in T20 World Cup also in doubt.
Akmal brothers also have to face same fine due to their non-professional approach in Hobart Test. All three players will be watched very carefully for 6 months.
Case of Shoaib Malik and Rana Naveed is worst then anyone else, both players have been recommended for a ban for one year with 3 million fines. Both players have been accused of significant breaches of discipline. Shoaib Malik had some problems with Mohammad Yousuf who was captain for Pakistan in 3 Tests and 5 ODIs , Malik has been consistently been under some fire after he was removed from the captaincy last year, this whole scenario completely destroyed team balance.
Now the Squad of T20 World Cup looks thinner after the committee report because none of these players are looking good to make it to the squad, final squad was due to be announced on Monday but will be delayed to
Kamran Akmal, Rana Naveed, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal are under serious fire after Australia tour
the next week.
Interesting point is that Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi are not any more favorites for captaincy in T20 World Cup, Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan does not play T20 cricket, in this situation who will be Pakistan new captain? Everyone is talking about Abdul Razzaq as a captain in T20 World Cup but the trickiest decision will be made by PCB.
