Pakistan ends up their Australia tour on a disappointing note as they panic in the last and only Twenty 20 game which they should have won. Australians kept their cool heads and wins a thriller by just 2 runs.
Pakistan’s batsmen couldn’t capitalized on the work of their bowlers who bowls brilliantly to restrict dangerous looking Aussie side for just 127.Umar Gull the T20 specialist took 3 wickets with the help of superb energetic fielding From the fielders.
128 didn’t look like a piece of cake for Pakistan simply because of the speed of Aussies fast men, Shaun Tait in particular who took 3 for 13 including the key wicket of Kamran Akmal. He also crosses the 160.7kph which is the fastest ball record in Australia.
Imran Nazir starts the disaster for Pakistan when he was run out on duck courtesy of superb athleticism from Mitchell Johnson. Imran Farhat (8) looked good at start but fell on 10.
Kamran Akmal was the next batman who completely took the charge to Australian bowlers and smashes a fifty in just 25 balls but his partnership with Khalid Latif (3) came to an end on 44. Captain Shoaib Malik was supposed to play a match winning innings but like his other captains he failed to do so and got out after scoring just 3 runs.
Game was quickly gone to the Akmal Brothers who made a great partnership. Their partnership was a great contrast, Kamran was taking the charge all over Australia and Umar was just looking to nudge the ball around and run fast.
Problems began for Pakistan when Kamran Akmal (63) got out, he’s the one who was looking to finish the game for Pakistan but Shaun Tait took his wickets, after Kamran things started to look ugly for Pakistan. Fawad got out in slips, a wicket for the debutant Smith.
Rana Naveed was the man who gave all the advantage
Australia v Pakistan, Twenty20, Melbourne
Kamran Akmal played a good innings of 63 but it was not enough to take them home
back to Australians by playing a maiden 16th over of Mitchell Johnson, in the next over the leg-spinner took the wicket of Rana Naveed with a beautiful flighted delivery and was stumped after pushing Pakistan in a deep hole but Umar Gull under pressure hit his 1st ball over mid-on for six, what a shot that was, a huge shot over mid-on for six runs bring the game alive again.
Match came down to run a ball situation, 12 needed form 12 balls, Dark Nanned who was playing his 1st Twent20 game for Australia bowls another superb over to Umar Gull in which he gave away only 2 runs with a price wicket of Umar Gull.
Umar Akmal was a mere spectator at the other end watching his other partners getting out.
In last over Pakistan needs 10 runs with 2 wickets in hand, Shane Watson bowls that over of which he took the wicket of Umar Akmal on the 1st ball and with the end of Umar Akmal game was also gone to Australia. Mohammad Asif and Saeed Ajmal took the Pakistan’s score to 125 but still short of 3 runs from their 1st victory.
Pakistan batting again failed like it did all summer against Australia and now seniors have to step up and take the responsibility for which the cricket has to offer to them.
Earlier Australia was looking good to cross 180 mark easily but Pakistan’s energetic outfit and superb T20 bowling destroyed Aussies completely. Rana Naveed and Umar Gull both were superb against the Aussie batsmen and the three runouts of Shane Watson, Cameron White and Dark Nannes also was the major part of their batting claps but David Hussey brother of Michael Hussey saves Australia from a complete destruction and was notout on 40 giving his team some thing to bowl at which was enough for the tourists.
Australia 127 (Hussey 40*, Gul 3-20) beat Pakistan 9 for 125 (K Akmal 64, Tait 3-13) by 2 runs
