Shoaib Malik will lead the Pakistan side in the upcoming T20 against Australia on 5 February in Melbourne, T20 regular captain Shahid Afridi was banned for 2 Twenty20 matches after the ball tempering in the last ODI in Perth.

After Yousuf and Afridi, Malik will be the 3rd captain on this tour, former captain Younis Khan has been retire from international cricket and Mohammad Yousuf is not a part of T20 squad so Malik was the only choice on that time to be as captain.

Malik has captained the Pakistan side before and almost won the 1st Twenty20 World Cup in 2007 but his overall record is not one of the bests so this could be a great chance for him to make a comeback as a captain and to grab 1st win over Australia in this tour.
